Lead Senior Support Worker

Location: Bradford
Salary: 16,575 pa basic full time

We are looking for a candidate to take on the role of Lead Senior Support Worker in a supported living home in Allerton, Bradford.  Three gentlemen share a home here and need someone who enjoys being active as they like to go for long walks and the shifts can be busy.  Great communication skills are a must and especially knowledge and/ or experience of working with people with non-verbal communication to maximise their abilities.  The men also enjoy retro TV shows, tabletop games and days out in local parks and cafes.  You will work on shift and be required to do sleep-ins.  The right candidate must also be a driver.

You will help oversee the day to day running of the service; ensuring support plans are followed, appointments are kept and that the people who use our services receive the best possible support. Your Team Manager will work alongside you to support you with this. Most of your work will be on shift, leading good practice by example, and you will have some hours each week to complete admin tasks. You need to understand person centered approaches and be able to demonstrate and guide support staff in providing support that reflects the individual’s choices and needs. You will develop and maintain positive relationships with families, external agencies, friends, staff and your manager to achieve the best outcomes for the people you support.

Your role will include use of a computer, so some computer literacy is required. You will check emails, keep records, help develop support plans, and you may supervise staff. Your Team Manager will work with you to ensure you are confident in fulfilling the role. You will be required to have good communication skills both reading and written. A positive outlook, adaptability and a sense of humour are also very useful!
