United response is a charity that supports and campaigns for people with Learning Disabilities. We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated person to join our professional team of Support Workers at one of our residential services in Exmouth.

Brimley is a 6 bedded award winning Residential home in Exmouth.  A mixed gender, 24/7 provision with Waking Night staff for individuals with a Learning Disability, some have a diagnosis of Dementia so knowledge in this aspect of care is essential. 

As a Waking Nights Support Worker you will provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with learning disabilities and dementia. You will be empowering the individuals to live as independently as possible with appropriate levels of support.

Your role will be to provide practical support, including intimate personal care, completing all the relevant documentation promptly and accurately. You will ensure that the living accommodation is respected as someone’s home, carrying out any domestic duties, such as cleaning, washing, meal preparation and ironing, that is necessary. Some IT knowledge and administration skills would also be advantageous. 

As a Waking Nights Support Worker you will work as part of a flexible team across a seven day rota which will include weekend working. You need to be reliable because people are depending on you, be able to travel between locations and work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and overnight as needed. You also need to be a great communicator, both verbally and in writing and have basic IT and numerical skills.
