(We are able to offer contracted hours ranging from 7.5 hours up to Full time at 37.5 hours).

United Response is a leading national charity providing support to young people and adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. We believe in championing the right of disabled people to live, work, socialise and participate in the community, free of discrimination and unnecessary boundaries.

About our service

We are recruiting Support workers to support 3 older gentleman with mobility, health and personal care needs living in their own bungalow in the community of Fulford in York. Personal care in this case is to incorporate providing comprehensive support with incontinence needs.

Support is delivered 24 hours a day, 365 days a week and includes evening support, weekends and bank holidays and will require a flexible approach to shift patterns.

Shift times vary but will usually start at 7am and finish at 10pm at the latest and will cover early shifts, late shifts and night time support in the form of sleep over shifts. Some lone working will be required. The gentlemen require support to maintain their home and access community based activities as well as keeping on top of maintenance of their own home and taking care of their health and personal care needs.

In addition to the above, the people we support at the Fulford service enjoy taking part in lots of energetic, fun activities which you would befortunate enough to support them with including, going shopping, bowling, visiting family, engaging in social activities such as visiting pubs and cafes and going on holidays and days out.

The gentlemen also work occasionally for a local recycling business.
