The service supports adults with learning disabilities, some with complex needs.
The waking night post will be lone working and will require the successful applicant to complete their induction on day shifts prior to commencing waking night duties.
The waking night duties will involve supporting people with personal care and some cleaning duties.

You will be joining a team which supports people with DISABILITIES predominantly within OUR SUPPORTED LIVING SERVICE . Our aim is to give the people you will be supporting as much control over their own lives as possible.
This is a responsible Role which is really varied, can be challenging and is extremely rewarding. the job is all about giving people encouragement, guidance and support so they can live as independently as possible and have the freedom to make their own choices.
On a daily basis, you may be involved in supporting people with the following activities:
- Managing finances
- Personal care
- Attending Drs/ hospital appointments
- Shopping and socialising
And many more.

Being a Waking Nights Support Worker is a great chance to experience unique opportunities that day staff may not necessarily get to see, night support is generally different to what you would expect to be doing during the day; you may support people with their bedtime routines, ensure that specific plans are followed in case of an emergency during the night, and help with preparing breakfast in the morning. All this goes towards helping you to build well rounded skills and expertise that will stay with you throughout your career in support.
Lots of people choose to use the quieter periods of time during waking nights to complete written study tasks as part of their training and development and we find that working parents are more easily able to accommodate night shift patterns around their childcare commitments, not forgetting of course that as a night shift worker you will miss out on the rush hour journey to work every morning!
