We have full and part-time opportunities for female Support Workers in Alvaston, Derby. Shifts include weekdays, weekends, evenings and night support. This particular post is a Genuine Occupational Requirement in accordance with the Equality Act 2010; Schedule 9; Part 1. A full UK driving licence is required.
About the role
As a Support Worker, you’ll give people with learning disabilities the confidence and encouragement to become more independent.
This is a responsible role which is really varied, sometimes challenging and often fun. The job is all about giving people encouragement, guidance and support so they can live as independently as possible, make their own choices and do the things they enjoy.
The important thing is that you have the compassion and integrity to treat people with dignity and respect.
A full UK driving licence is required and access to your own vehicle would be useful.
On a daily basis, you may also be involved in supporting him with the following activities:
• Cooking and cleaning
• Personal care
• Paying bills/managing household finances
• Going to health appointments and taking medicine
• Going shopping
