Team Leader – Skills & Wellbeing (Fixed Term or Secondment of 6 months with potential to become permanent)

Salary: £13.00 per hour

Location: Boscawen Farm, Blackwater, Cornwall

Job Type: Full time 37.5 hours or open to part time interest

Boscawen Farm is a vibrant centre for lifelong learning where individuals with learning disabilities develop essential life and vocational skills. Through land-based activities, including animal care, horticulture, and heritage crafts, we foster a supportive, community-oriented environment. Our goal is to empower individuals to gain skills, build connections, and pursue meaningful employment and community inclusion.

United Response is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Team Leader to help our Skills, Wellbeing & Lifelong Learning Centre at Boscawen Farm. The role involves managing land-based activities, liaising with various stakeholders (including individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and Mental Health challenges), and collaborating with our Education & Employment teams. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Service Manager to develop projects that support true community inclusion and meaningful outcomes for the people we support.

Role Overview:As a Team Leader, you will report directly to the Team Manager and ensure the smooth operation of services at the farm. Your role will involve:

  • Leading and managing the day-to-day coordination of the service.
  • Supervising, training, supporting, and mentoring staff.
  • Delivering high-quality, person-centered support that promotes personal growth and decision-making.
  • Handling administrative tasks and actively participating in the staff rota.
  • Acting as a role model and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Effective leadership skills with experience in managing a team.
  • A person-centered approach to support and service delivery.
  • Ability to manage administrative responsibilities alongside active involvement in service delivery.
  • A Full UK Driving License is essential due to the location and travel requirements.
